POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Facilities Construction and Maintenance Inspector is responsible for the daily oversight of contracted Facility Construction, Maintenance, & Repair projects. This position will manage the environmental and safety compliance regulations as well as Welding, Fabrication, Construction, Maintenance & Coating Standards associated with Facility construction, maintenance and repair as well as any associated environmental remediation and reclamation. The Facilities Construction and Maintenance Inspector collaborates with all areas related to pad and facility construction, drilling and completions activities, and the maintenance/repair of site facilities to ensure SIMOPS efficiencies are maximized and inefficiencies are minimized. Other functional groups this roles works with daily are Supply Chain and Finance & Accounting.

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of contract personnel that perform construction, maintenance, and repairs to production facilities.
  • Monitor costs and logistical plans to ensure uninterrupted operations. 
  • Oversee construction activities, maintenance and repair operations, environmental and safety controls, and permit requirements, if any. 
  • Work with Procurement Team on materials and services bidding and vendor selection. Assist in the development and evaluation of Requests for Proposals (RFP's). 
  • Inspect work progress, equipment and methodology to verify safety and project progress. 
  • Issue daily progress reports for all projects. 
  • Participate in meetings with regulatory agencies as required to support the job function. 
  • Identify emerging issues, prioritize, and communicate with the Production Operations and Construction Teams regarding issues and trends. Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions. 
  • Collaborate with managerial team, technical personnel, and other departments to resolve problems and coordinate activities. 
  • Provide hands-on support as needed for all phases of construction and commissioning for facility projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Extensive knowledge of oil and gas construction practices. Minimum of 5 years' experience required. 10 years preferred.
  • Experience working with oil & gas related standards bodies including, but not limited to, ANSI, OSHA, API and CFR as well as internally adopted construction and coating standards. Interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with the standards, design, construction, and maintenance of high-pressure process piping and equipment including above-ground and below-ground installations, tie-ins, coating, painting, cathodic protection, bolting & torquing, hydrostatic testing, foundations and critical lifts.
  • Certified in Welding Inspection preferred (AWS CWI).
  • Experience in documentation of construction projects including weld mapping, tracking MTR’s, documentation of coating profiles and creation of job books.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor, and typing. Work is generally performed outside in ambient weather conditions. The position is normally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including wet, humid, cold, heat, loud noise, vibrations, gases, fumes, mists, dust, and odors. Must provide own transportation and be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.

REGULAR SCHEDULE
This is a full-time salaried position with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday or Saturday work hours. Extended hours may be needed to complete Company objectives and to meet Contractor work schedules. Travel up to 90% may be required to travel to work sites beyond the corporate office. This position may be required to be accessible for call outs beyond standard working hours.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS                      High School Diploma or equivalent
                                                                          Additional Technical Courses and/or experience preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE                                       5+ years' experience with oil and gas field operations
                                                                          Experience with facility or pipeline construction required
                                                                          Certifications in Welding Inspection, Coating Inspection, Construction Safety 
                                                                          and API 1169 (Pipeline Construction Inspector Certification) preferred.
                                                                          
A combination of experience and/or education can be taken into consideration.
