The Optimizer will perform advanced-level activities that support PennEnergy operations, production, well construction, drilling and completions activities. This position is responsible for installing, operating, and optimizing artificial lift systems on wells across the field. This position will work with the production team to ensure optimal well production performance while controlling lease operating expenses. They are expected to work independently to address and resolve complicated situations. This position will provide guidance, support, and training for field-based personnel including contractors. This position will also oversee contractors during downhole work such as swabbing or slickline.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is primarily based in the field (e.g., well sites) with frequent working days at PennEnergy corporate and field offices. There is potential for work in areas containing outdoor weather conditions, including wet, humid, cold, heat, loud noise, vibrations, gases, fumes, mists, dust, and odors while working onsite in the field. Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor, and typing. Must provide own transportation and be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle.
REGULAR SCHEDULE
This is a full-time salary position with a regular schedule of 40-hour work weeks based on a predetermined production schedule. Extended hours may be needed on occasion to complete Company objectives. This position will be required to be accessible beyond standard working hours. Up to 75% of travel is required to work sites beyond the corporate office.

YEARS’ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 2+ years of experience with oil & gas production operations and/or workover operations
WORK EXPERIENCE PREFERRED 4+ years artificial lift experience or related well tending experience

- Maximize well production and facility efficiency. Identify and apply technologies to optimize operations. Review daily artificial lift performance.
- Independently monitor and maintain artificial lift systems. Provide subject matter expertise to field personnel and supervise the activities of contractors, consultants and vendors.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex instrumentation issues and equipment maintenance on artificial lift systems.
- Establish and perform procedures for artificial lift systems, equipment, and associated downhole work to ensure safe optimal operations.
- Perform fluid shots and/or other technologies to determine downhole issues and remedies.
- Manage on site contractors/vendors during artificial lift installations, troubleshooting and downhole work.
- Manage the completion of records and reports including plunger details, maintenance reports, chemical usage, uplift lookbacks and fluid shots.
- Identify any production problems that may adversely impact operations.
- Conduct inspection procedures for lease sites to ensure they are clean and well maintained. Identify and report hazards, vandalism, and any at-risk behavior or situations by contractors. Ensure proper signage is in place.
- Manage inventory by monitoring and purchasing required supplies, materials, and chemicals for proper well maintenance.
- Support cost control through diligent Lease Operating Expenses (LOE) tracking. Assist Production Operations to ensure well production volume availability is maximized and LOEs are minimized.
- Champion safety initiatives and training to ensure that casual visitors, contracted personnel, and production team members are briefed on PennEnergy’s’ Health, Environmental and Safety expectations.
- Participate in safety and environmental initiatives and training to reduce spills and releases to air and ground water. Assist in incident investigations, corrective action development and completion as incidents arise.
- Actively assist permitting initiatives to ensure the operating areas comply with all necessary permits, programs, and DEP policies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Expert knowledge of data trending and troubleshooting
- Expert knowledge of environmental and safety requirements and practices
- Expert knowledge of oil and gas production equipment focusing on artificial lift equipment
- Ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems and perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
- Working knowledge of standards and practices for design, construction, and maintenance of high-pressure horizontal wells
- Experience with downhole operations with emphasis on safety, environmental, and optimization
- Experience with PA regulatory requirements
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, Wellview, Aries and data tracking software
